There is no blue print for Amnesty Students. As a result, the team is free to organize itself as it best fits its audience. What you can expect from joining the Amnesty Student Group the Hague is agency, creative and lots of fun!

TEAM STRUCTURE

CHAIR: The Chair of the Amnesty Student Group The Hague has a leading, supervising, and coordinating role. The Chair is responsible to establish and implement, together with the rest of the board, the vision and strategy of the year and ensure that it is in line with Amnesty International’s mission.

SECRETARY: The Secretary of the Amnesty Student Group The Hague has an administrative role. In addition, the secretary is the person behind our official email, this means that she is responsible for maintaining contact with the headquarters, external parties as well as with the general volunteers.

TREASURER: The Treasurer of the Amnesty Student Group The Hague has a financial and administrative role. The Treasurer is responsible to oversee the financial affairs of the team as well as coordinating the Fundraising Committee.

PR MANAGER: The PR Manager of the Amnesty Student Group The Hague is responsible for coordinating the Public Relations Committee as well as to develop and execute, together with the team, a marketing strategy for online and offline purposes.

EDUCATIONAL MANAGER: The PR Manager of the Amnesty Student Group The Hague is responsible for coordinating the Educational Committee. This includes ensuring the planning and execution of events is performed in a timely manner.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE:The Fundraising Committee's main responsibility is to organize events with the goal of raising funds for Amnesty International the Netherlands.

PR COMMITTEE: The PR Committee's main responsibility is to promote important campaigns organized by Amnesty International as well as fostering and maintaining engagement on the AISD's social media platforms.

EDUCATIONAL COMMITTEE: The Educational Committee's main responsibility is to organize events in order to raise awareness on human rights as well as the work of Amnesty International.

How can I join the Amnesty Student Group The Hague?

Become a general volunteer!

You can sign up through this link.

By signing up on the website, you will become a general volunteer of the Amnesty International Student Team The Hague. General volunteers get monthly updates from the Secretary of the AISD regarding the activities the team is organizing. In this way, you will not miss any of our interesting initiatives! In addition, general volunteers can be asked to help occasionally in the organization of our activities.

Eligibility criteria:

– Be enrolled in an university located in the Hague (i.e Leiden University Campus The Hague, Leiden University College, The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Royal Academy of Arts, Royal Conservatoire, Delft University of Technology Campus the Hague, International Institute of Social Studies (Erasmus University Rotterdam), Inholland University of Applied Sciences The Hague, Hotelschool the Hague).

Isn’t your university on the list but it is located in the Hague? Then please send us an email and we will inform you whether you are eligible to become a member.

What are general volunteers?

A general volunteer is someone who is invited to events the AISD organizes (with the help of the committee members). They are routinely updated on all activities and initiatives of the AISD. Sometimes the AISD asks general volunteers to help with the organization of certain events but it depends. Thus, it is a position that requires less commitment compared to that of committee members.

How can I become part of the Board or of a Committee?

Unfortunately, the applications for becoming a board member or a committee member are closed.

If you are interested in becoming a board member for the 2022-2023 team, applications will open in May 2022.

Instead, if you are interested in becoming a committee member for the 2022-2023 team, applications will open in August 2022.
